2024 GERRIC workshops at UNSW

It was great to be back at my alma mater UNSW to present at their gifted & talented students program (GERRIC) in January of 2024. I used a range of impro games to build clear connections and vivid memories of the cognitive verb family for primary age students. There were some exceptionally intelligent students in the group, and there were afforded a range of freedoms in their improvising including adding in their general knowledge into scenes and also using their areas of interest and passion subjects when in role. There was also visible improvements in the students' soft skills as they collaborated and communicated in creative ideation with peers. I designed a short performance outcome for parents to view based on key cognitive verbs whilst also getting some laughs with the students. A great week at the intersection of comedy, improvising and cognition.
