It was a lot of fun to be onstage at the REP Theatre in an improvised a cappella musical as part of Improvention 2025 in Canberra. All the musical background (including chords, beatbox patterns and body percussion) was generated by performers who were not on stage. Those players on stage developed scenes with improvised melodies and backing vocal patterns. And all spontaneously with no planning.
This scene was set at "the Grand Mariner hotel" and I came on as a crusty pirate (with a hook on my hand) and informed the guests of the hotel's rules. Lots of laughs.
